This position is budgeted in the\nEmergency Medical Services Transport Program Fund.\nCouncil District(s) Affected: Citywide.\nProposed Actions:\nAdopt the following Ordinance which was introduced on 9/30/2025, Item 50, (Council\nvoted 7-0, Councilmember von Wilpert-not present, Councilmember Campillo-not\npresent):\n(O-2026-17)\nOrdinance authorizing the exemption of an Assistant Fire Chief position in the City’s FireRescue Department from the Classified Service, based on advisory review and favorable\ncomment by the Civil Service Commission on November 7, 2024. This position will be\nresponsible for the new Strategic Operations Branch of the Department.
