8.\nCONTRACT EXTENSION: ALHAMBRA COMMUNITY CENTER\nMANAGEMENT SERVICES – F2M22-65, C2M23-43, M2M25-162\nPROJECT\nOn May 22, 2023, the City Council awarded a contract not to exceed $750,000 for 30\nmonths to Cowley Corbis for project management services for the construction of the\nAlhambra Community Center. The current agreement is scheduled to expire by its terms\non November 30, 2025. This amendment is necessary to complete the Alhambra\nCommunity Center Project. The project had been extended due to unforeseen CEQA\nrequirements, including the Environmental Impact Report (“EIR”). The original agreement\nwas for a mitigated negative declaration path to a final CEQA determination. The project\nalso required additional public outreach and public meetings to review the project's design\nand historical preservation aspects. The Alhambra Community Center is projected to be\ncompleted by July, 2027.\nRecommended Action:\nCity Council approve an amendment, subject to final\nlanguage approval by the City Manager and City Attorney, to the contract with Cowley and\nCorbis (Contract No. C2M23-43) for project management services for the Alhambra\nCommunity Center for an additional $500,000 in an amount no to exceed $1,250,000 for\na term of twenty months from December 1, 2025 to July 31, 2027; and, direct staff to\nundertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s action.
