17.\nAgreements for Legal Counsel Services with Richards Watson & Gerson APC\nand Goldfarb & Lipman LLP (General Fund)\nDepartment(s): City Attorney’s Office\nRecommended Action: 1. Authorize the City Manager to execute a legal\nservices agreement with the law firm of Richards Watson & Gershon APC\n("RWG") for legal services for municipal advisory and litigation services\nincluding, but not limited to, elections work for the period of December 2, 2025\nuntil December 1, 2028 with an option to extend for up to one year, in an\namount not to exceed $350,000 (Agreement No. A-2025-XXX).\n2. Authorize the City Manager to execute a legal services agreement with the\nlaw firm of Goldfarb & Lipman LLP for municipal advisory and litigation\nservices, including but not limited to, defending the City in litigation\nchallenging the Rent Stabilization and Just Cause Eviction Ordinance,\nadministrative procedures, housing, affordable housing, fair housing, rent\nstabilization, land use, and real property issues for the period of December 2,\n2025 to December 1, 2028, with an option to extend for up to one year, in an\namount not to exceed $400,000 (Agreement No. A-2025-XXX).
