6.\nRESOLUTION\nAPPROVING\nCHANGES\nTO\nTHE\nCITY\nOF\nALHAMBRA\nCOMPENSATION PLAN AND SALARY SCHEDULE FOR PART-TIME JOB\nCLASSIFICATIONS – F2M26-2, R2M26-1\nCalifornia Public Employees’ Retirement Law requires the City Council to approve and\nadopt salary schedules and pay rates for job classifications at a public meeting. Effective\nJanuary 1, 2026, the State of California Department of Industrial Relations Minimum Wage\nOrder mandates that minimum wage for employers with 26 or more employees be\nincreased from $16.50 per hour to $16.90 per hour. The proposed Resolution provides for\nincreases for part-time hourly classifications to ensure compliance with the upcoming\nState of California mandated minimum wage increase. The salary schedule, attached to\nthe Resolution is reflective of increases in order to bring part-time hourly classifications\ninto compliance. To ensure compliance, the new part-time salary schedule shall be\neffective on the pay period beginning January 1, 2026. Additionally, due to an anticipated\nretirement and upcoming staffing needs, a part-time Housing Assistant classification was\nadded to the salary schedule.\nRecommended Action:\nCity Council adopt Resolution No. R2M26-1 entitled: A\nResolution of the Alhambra City Council approving changes to the City of Alhambra\nCompensation Plan and Salary Schedule for part-time job classifications approving\nchanges to the City of Alhambra Compensation Plan and Salary Schedule for part-time\njob classifications; and, direct the Finance Director to make the necessary budget\nadjustments to comply with the State mandated minimum wage increase.
