18.\nA RESOLUTION FOR THE APPLICATION AND CERTIFICATION AGREEMENT FOR\nTHE CERTIFIED LOCAL GOVERNMENT (CLG) PRESERVATION PROGRAM –\nF2M26-21, R2M26-2\nThe Certified Local Government (CLG) program is a partnership between local\ngovernments, the State Office of Historic Preservation (OHP), and the National Park\nService (NPS). Program benefits include access to technical assistance and potential\ngrant funding opportunities to support the City’s preservation efforts. The Historic\nPreservation Commission and City Council expressed an interest in the City of Alhambra\nbecoming a Certified Local Government. With the adoption of the Historic Preservation\nProgram last year, the City is now eligible to apply for CLG status. As part of the application\nprocess, a City Council resolution is required to approve the application before submitting\nit to the State. The Resolution also authorizes the City Manager and the Director of\nCommunity Development, as an Authorized Deputy, to sign the Certification Agreement\nfor the CLG Program and coordinate, process, and execute all contracts, agreements,\namendments, and ancillary documents within the scope of the application for certification.\nRecommended Action:\nCity Council adopt Resolution No. R2M26-2 entitled: a\nResolution of the City of Alhambra City Council approving the Application and Certification\nAgreement for the Certified Local Government Historic Preservation Program approving\nthe application and authorizing the City Manager to sign the Certification Agreement for\nthe Certified Local Government (CLG) Program.
