Board of Airport Commissioners
Agenda Item 6
RESOLUTION NO. - Three (3)-year Contract with Standard Signs Incorporated: Covering specialized airfield signs and replacement parts for Los Angeles International Airport and Van Nuys Airport, for cost not to exceed $1,050,000 \nPURPOSE: The proposed award will establish a three (3)-year contract to provide specialized airfield signs and replacement parts at Los Angeles International Airport and Van Nuys Airport for amount not to exceed $1,050,000. Airfield signs and replacement parts are continually needed to support airport operations, construction projects, and taxiway re-designation projects. The contract will allow Los Angeles World Airports staff to ensure the continuing capability to maintain compliance with Federal Aviation Administration Rules and Regulations, repair and replace airfield signs when necessary and without delay, provide necessary visibility to airplane pilots, and support current construction and taxiway re-designation projects. \nRECOMMENDATIONS: Adoption of the Report requesting that the Board of Airport Commissioners determine that this action is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Article II, Section 2.f and Article III, Class 1 (15) of the Los Angeles City CEQA Guidelines; find that use of competitive bidding would be undesirable or impractical to award a contract for purchase of airfield signs or parts since there is only one vendor that can provide the Lumacurve signs and parts manufactured by Standard Signs Incorporated that are installed at Los Angeles International Airport and Van Nuys Airport; approve the Contract with Standard Signs Incorporated; and authorize the Chief Executive Officer, or designee, to execute said Contract after approval as to form by the City Attorney and approval by the Los Angeles City Council.
