RESOLUTION NO.      - Award of one (1)-year Contract, with two (2) one-year extension options, to Variable Speed Solutions, Inc.:  Covering supply and delivery of variable frequency drives and related services and repairs for Los Angeles International Airport and Van Nuys Airport, for cost not to exceed $450,000 \nPURPOSE: The proposed award will establish a one (1)-year contract, with two (2) one-year renewal options, with Variable Speed Solutions, Inc. for supply and delivery of variable frequency drives (VFDs) and related services and repairs at Los Angeles International Airport and Van Nuys Airport. The VFDs are a critical part of the continuous operation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems installed throughout Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA). The action will allow LAWA to maintain continual contractual coverage for the materials and services. \nRECOMMENDATIONS: Adoption of the Report requesting that the Board of Airport Commissioners determine that this action is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Article II, Section 2.f and Article III, Class 1 (2) of the Los Angeles City CEQA Guidelines; find that the work can be performed more economically or feasibly by an independent contractor than by City employees; approve Award of Contract to Variable Speed Solutions, Inc.; and authorize the Chief Executive Officer, or designee, to execute said Contract after approval as to form by the City Attorney.
