5.\nPRESENTATION REGARDING THE CITY OF ALHAMBRA DRAFT ECONOMIC\nDEVELOPMENT ACTION PLAN – F2M26-23\nIn April 2025, the City Council approved the 2025 Strategic Plan with Goal Three: Create\na Strong Financial Base and Strong Economic Base (Economic Development). One of the\ngoal’s objectives is to develop an Economic Development Action Plan. The Plan creates\na comprehensive and integrated approach to economic development that strengthens the\nCity’s economic base. Alhambra’s Economic Development Action Plan provides a\nstrategic framework to guide the City’s economic growth and resiliency over the next three\nto five years. The Action Plan creates a vision that stems from the community's values, its\ncollective sense of local economic resiliency, and consensus on a desired future. The\nguiding principles that informed and shaped the creation of the Action Plan are centered\non making Alhambra a great place to live, work, do business, and visit. In combination\nwith the guiding principles, the Plan highlights four distinct business districts and the vision\nof development in those areas in the future. The Plan also takes into consideration\nevolving demographic trends, economic indicators, and the City’s unique geographic\nstrengths. For next steps, Staff will move forward with community outreach events and\nopportunities for local businesses and stakeholders for comments and review of the plan.\nFollowing community outreach, staff will return to Council for recommendation to adopt\nthe Plan.\nRecommended Action:\nCity Council receive and file the report, or direct staff as\ndeemed appropriate on the final deliverables of the draft Economic Development Action\nPlan.
