13.\nCONTRACT AMENDMENT: CITY TREE TRIMMING AND PLANTING SERVICES – F96-\n35, C2M10-26, M2M26-17\nIn April of 2024, West Coast Arborists (WCA) was awarded a five-year contract extension,\neffective through June 30, 2029. The City of Alhambra currently maintains an active\ncontract with WCA for citywide tree maintenance services. Staff is requesting approval of\na Seventh Amendment to the existing agreement to increase the annual contract amount\nby $35,000.00, bringing the total annual contract amount to $835,000.00. This increase is\nnecessary to address the growing number of City owned trees damaged or destroyed by\nvehicle collisions and other incidents. The frequency of these collisions, particularly along\ncenter medians and major arterials, has resulted in significant and unplanned costs to\nreplace affected trees.\nRecommended Action:\nCity Council approve an amendment to the contract with\nWest Coast Arborists for Tree Trimming and Planting Services (Contract No. C2M10-26)\nto increase the total amount of the contract by $35,000 per year for the remainder of the\ncontract; authorize an additional $10,000.00 in appropriations for the additional work; and\ndirect staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize the Council’s action.
