14.3\nConsideration and Approval to Accept the 2025 FY 25 Office of Community\nOriented Policing Services Grant Hiring Program and Increase the Police\nDepartment Staffing from 132 to 137 Sworn Police Officers Positions in\nAccordance with the Program.\nRECOMMENDATION OF BUSINESS ITEM UNDER CONSIDERATION:\nIt is recommended that the City Council:\n1. Consider and approve the appropriation of the 2025 FY25 Office of Community Oriented\nPolicing Services Hiring Program and all requirements and conditions,\n2. Consider and approve an increase in Police Department staffing from 132 to 137 sworn\npolice officers in accordance with the City’s acceptance of the Program;\n3. Consider the appropriation of funds in the amount of $625,000.00 from the FY25 COPS\nHire Program Account No. 299-71-711-5-0-51110;\n4. Consider the appropriation of funds in the amount of $405,000.00 from General Funds\nAccount No. 100-71-711-5-0-51110;\n5. Instruct the Finance Department to encumber the necessary funds and complete any\nbudget amendments necessary to adopt the Program, and any additional funding\nrequirements and/or necessary purchases; and\n6.
