REQUEST the Mayor and INSTRUCT the City Administrative\nOfficer (CAO), Information Technology Agency (ITA) and the\nPersonnel Department, and Los Angeles Police Department\n(LAPD) to establish a targeted task force to identify and\nexepditiously resolve LAPD payroll issues.\n2. INSTRUCT the CAO, in coordination with the Controller, ITA,\nLAPD, and Personnel Department to report with\nrecommendations to authorize and fund the 13 additional\npositions identified in the January 12, 2026 Controller report,\nattached to the Council File, to improve payroll operations\nacross all City Departments.\nFiscal Impact Statement: None submitted by the Controller nor ITA.\nNeither the CAO nor the Chief Legislative Analyat has completed a\nfinancial analysis of this report.
