County\nof Los Angeles, et al.\nLos Angeles County Claims Board's recommendation: Authorize settlement of\nthe matter entitled, Estate of Amanda Bews, et al. v. County of Los Angeles, et\nal., United States District Court Case No. 2:23-cv-09775 and Los Angeles\nSuperior Court Case No. 24CMCV00666, in the amount of $400,000; and\ninstruct the Auditor-Controller to draw a warrant to implement this settlement\nfrom the Department of Health Services, Department of Medical Examiner, and\nSheriff's Department's budgets.\nThese Federal and State wrongful death lawsuits stem from the death of an\ninmate and allege negligence and failure to summon medical care.
