32.\nPitchess Detention Center South Renovation Project Construction\nContract\nRecommendation: Authorize the Director of Public Works to execute a\nConstruction Manager at Risk Pre-Construction and Construction Services\nAgreement with Bernards Bros. Inc. for the proposed Pitchess Detention\nCenter South Renovation Project (Project) (5), for the preconstruction contract\namount of $362,440, plus Construction Manager at Risk Allowance of $600,000\nfor additional field investigation and testing for a maximum contract amount of\n$962,440. Sufficient appropriation is available in Capital Project No. 8A133 to\nfully fund the agreement. Authorize the issuance of a Notice to Proceed for the\nduration of the preconstruction phase only until the final determination of the\nGuaranteed Maximum Price. Authorize the Director to supplement the\npreconstruction contract amount of $362,440 for the Construction Manager at\nRisk Pre-Construction and Construction Services Agreement by up to 25% of\nthe contract amount for the preconstruction phase services. Find that the\nrecommended actions are not a project under the California Environmental\nQuality Act. Authorize the Director to take the following actions: (Department\nof Public Works) APPROVE\nWith concurrence from the Acting Chief Executive Officer, exercise\ncontrol of the Construction Manager at Risk Allowance of $600,000,\nincluding authority to reallocate the allowance into the contract amount,\nas appropriate, in accordance with contract requirements.\nDeliver preconstruction field investigations for the proposed Project using\nBoard-approved Job Order Contracts.\nProceed with the preconstruction phase of the project only, which\nincludes design and planning efforts for the proposed Project.
