7.c.\nADOPTION OF ORDINANCE NO. 1287 AFFIRMING THE PLANNING\nCOMMISSION’S RECOMMENDATION TO APPROVE ZONE TEXT\nAMENDMENT 25-01 TO AMEND THE SOUTH EL MONTE MUNICIPAL\nCODE CHAPTER 17.09 AND CHAPTER 5.26 TO ALLOW COMMERCIAL\nCANNABIS OPERATIONS IN THE MANUFACTURING ZONE AND TO\nAMEND THE EXISTING REQUIRED BUFFER DISTANCES FROM\nJURISDICTIONAL BOUNDARIES TO 350 FEET AND MAINTAIN 1,000\nFOOT BUFFERS FROM ALL OTHER SENSITIVE USES\nAdoption of Ordinance No. 1287, affirming the Planning Commission’s\nrecommendation to approve zoning text amendment to the South El Monte\nMunicipal Code Chapter 17.09 and Chapter 5.26 to allow commercial\ncannabis operations in the manufacturing zone and to amend the existing\nrequired buffer distances from jurisdictional boundaries to 350 feet and\nmaintain 1,000-foot buffers from all other sensitive uses.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION: Staff recommends City Council waive the full\nreading and adopt Ordinance No. 1287, approving Planning Commission’s\nrecommendation and adopting Zone Text Amendment No. 25-01 to:\n• Amend the South El Monte Municipal Code Chapter 17.09 to allow\nretailer commercial cannabis operations as a permitted use within the\nManufacturing (M) zone; and\n• Amend the South El Monte Municipal Code Chapter 5.26 to add the\nManufacturing (M) zone as a permissible zone for retailer commercial\ncannabis operations and amend the existing required buffer distance of\n1,000-foot buffer from all existing sensitive uses except for jurisdictional\nboundaries, the buffer of which will be 350 feet.\nConsent Calendar Items 7.d. and 7.e. next page.\nCONSENT CALENDAR - CITY COUNCIL (CONTINUED)
