6.B. NO RIGHT TURN ON RED TRAFFIC SAFETY\nPILOT PROGRAM [C. BYERS, J. ERICKSON, Y.\nQUARKER, A. LOVANO, J. DEL TORO]:\nThe City Council will consider directing staff to begin\na "No Right Turn On Red" Traffic Safety Pilot\nProgram to evaluate intersections where a right turn\non red ban would improve safety for pedestrians and\ncyclists.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Direct staff to work with\nthe City's on-call traffic consultant to begin a "No\nRight Turn on Red" Traffic Safety Pilot Program to\nevaluate intersections that would benefit from a right\nturn on red ban, including creating criteria for\nconsideration of future intersections; and 2) Direct\nstaff to return to the City Council with results of the\npilot program and recommendations of proposed\nintersections to institute a no right turn on red\npermanently.\nSTAFF REPORT
