Approval of the purchase of networking equipment and cabling infrastructure for the\nMidtown Recreation Center\nRecommendation(s):\nApprove the purchase of Cisco networking equipment and cabling infrastructure from\nLogicalis using California Multiple Award Schedules (CMAS) contract #3-14-70-3040B.\nThe City of Lancaster operates an Internet Protocol (IP) network that allows for electronic\ndata and voice communications between city sites and the wider world. City Hall is the core\nbackbone of the larger City-wide network that all electronic communications flows through\nas well as the location of the City’s primary data center. The purchase of the Midtown\nRecreation Center will be added to the City network. This project will install 250 network\ncables, 4 network switches, 1 rack, 9 wireless access points, as well as ancillary equipment to\nsupport the technology functions of the Midtown Recreation Center.
