28. 26-54432\nRecommendation to request City Manager to explore supplemental contracting\noptions, technology options, and other staffing solutions to assist Public Works and\nexpedite the completion of traffic engineering projects, including quick build safety\nimprovements and report back to City Council within 90 days;\nRequest City Manager to develop a staffing and implementation plan to create a 6\nmonth review standard for Public Works traffic evaluations and provide regular\nreporting to the City Council on the implementation of all recommendations within\nthese evaluations and report back to City Council within 90 days;\nRequest that all minor traffic safety improvements such as the painting,\nmaintenance, and enhancement of City crosswalks and quick-build safety\nenhancements be brought before City Council on a quarterly basis, and request\nCity Manager identify funding options to expedite completion of these critical safety\nimprovements and include a status update of these efforts within the city’s financial\nreporting structure for City Council review;\nRequest Public Works to provide a presentation on the Neighborhood Traffic\nManagement Program Update memorandum issued on December 30, 2025 to the\nCity Council within 90 days;\nRequest Public Works to provide a presentation on updating and modernizing\nVision Zero goals to the Mobility, Ports, Infrastructure Committee within 90 days;\nand\nRequest City Manager make identifying funding to improve traffic safety and speed\nthe evaluation and delivery of traffic studies a top priority for the development of\nthe FY 27 Proposed Budget.\nOffice or Department:\nCindy Allen, Councilwoman, Second District; Mary\nZendejas, Councilwoman, First District; Megan Kerr,\nCouncilwoman, Fifth District\nSuggested Action:\nApprove recommendation.
