A. Award a Construction Contract to KASA Construction, Inc. for the Cudahy Park Renovation\nProject Phase 1 #PRE-001 (page 25)\nPresented by the Public Works Director/Building Official\nRecommendation:\nThe City Council is requested to:\n1. Award a construction contract to KASA Construction, Inc. in an\namount of $5,289,638.50 for Phase 1 of the Cudahy Park Renovation\nProject #PRE-001; and\n2. Approve plans and specifications for Phase 1 of the project; and\n3. Approve a 10% construction contingency in the amount of $528,963.85\nfor potential Construction Change Orders (CCO) and 7.5%\nConstruction Management and Construction Contingency (CMCI) in\nan amount of $396,722.89, and authorize the City Manager to approve\nchange orders within the contingency amount and execute the\ncontract; and\n4. Find the Cudahy Park Renovation Project (CIP Project No. PRE-001)\nexempt from the environmental regulations of the California\nEnvironmental Quality Act (“CEQA”), pursuant to Cal. Code of\nRegulations, Title 14, Division 6, Chapter 3, Section(s) 15301 (Class 1 –\nExisting Facilities), 15302 (Class 2 – Replacement or Reconstruction),\n15303 (Class 3 – New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures),\nand 15304 (Class 4 – Minor Alterations to Land).
