G.\nAPPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT PETITION CERTIFICATION OF OLD\nLAS PALMAS UNDERGROUND UTILITY ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 2,\nINITIATE FORMATION OF THE DISTRICT AND PROCEED WITH ASSESSMENT\nENGINEER’S REPORT AND BALLOTING\nRECOMMENDATION:\n1. Staff recommends the City Council find this project exempt from the California\nEnvironmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Section 15302 (d) (conversion of\noverhead electric utility distribution system facilities to underground including\nconnection to existing overhead electric utility distribution lines where the surface\nis restored to the condition existing prior to the undergrounding).\n2. Adopt Resolution entitled, “A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE\nCITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING PETITION OF OLD LAS\nPALMAS ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 2”.\n3. Authorize staff to collect deposits from the Old Las Palmas Neighborhood in an\namount sufficient to order the necessary Assessment Engineering Services from\nour on-call Assessment Engineer to prepare the Engineer’s Report in compliance\nwith Proposition 218.\n4. Authorize the City Manager to execute all necessary documents.
