5.1.\nDiscussion and Consideration of Resolution of Intention and Introduction of\nOrdinance Amending the City's CalPERS Retirement Contract\nRECOMMENDATION:\nStaff recommends that the City Council:\n1. Discuss the proposed amendment to the City's contract with the California Public\nEmployees' Retirement System (CalPERS) to formally incorporate Public\nEmployees' Pension Reform Act of 2013 (PEPRA) language;\n2. Introduce for first reading, by title only, the proposed Ordinance amending the\nagreements with CalPERS for Local Miscellaneous and Local Safety members;\n3. Schedule second reading and adoption of the Ordinance at a regular City Council\nmeeting during Regular Business, not less than 20 days following this meeting, in\ncompliance with Government Code Section 20471; and\n4. Adopt CalPERS' Resolution of Intention to Approve an Amendment to Contract.\nDepartment: Finance
