Chavez Parkway,” from\nCommercial Street Heading Southwest to Crosby Road, as “Chicano Park\nBoulevard.” (Added 4/16/26)\nThis item will be considered in the afternoon session which is scheduled to begin at\n2:00 p.m.\nTotal Estimated Cost of Proposed Action and Funding Source:\nThis action is anticipated to result in the placement of new street signs at multiple\nintersections between Commercial Street and Crosby Road, or as determined necessary by\nthe Transportation Department’s Street Division. Implementation of this action is\nestimated to cost about $15,400 for materials, labor, and equipment, to be funded from the\nTransportation Department’s operating budget under the General Fund.\nCouncil District(s) Affected: 8.\nProposed Actions:\nThis application is to rename an existing 0.8-mile street segment, Cesar Chavez Parkway,\nthat extends southwest from Commercial Street to Crosby Road, to Chicano Park\nBoulevard. The existing street is located within the light industrial (IH-1-1), commercial\noffice (CO-2-2), community commercial (CC-3-6), and neighborhood commercial (CN-1-\n4) zones in the Barrio Logan neighborhood within the Barrio Logan Community Plan area\nof Council District 8.\nSubitem-A: (R-2026-416)\nResolution determining that the approval of renaming Cesar Chavez Parkway is\ncategorically exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act under CEQA\nGuidelines Section 15301.\nSubitem-B: (O-2026-115)\nIntroduction of an Ordinance waiving the Notice of Application requirements under San\nDiego Municipal Code section 112.0301(a) and approving the renaming an existing street\nCesar Chavez Parkway to Chicano Park Boulevard.\nCommittee Actions Taken: N/A\nTransportation Department: Lucero Maganda, (619) 236-6330\nCity Attorney Contact: Ryan P.
