12. NOTICE INVITING BIDS: SEWER MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT ON SEVENTH\nSTREET BETWEEN VALLEY BOULEVARD AND SHORB STREET – F2M26-26,\nN2M26-50\nThe City is constructing the Alhambra Community Center at 612 W. Shorb Street. As part\nof this project, the sewer pipe was originally proposed to connect toward Seventh Street.\nHowever, because there is no City sewer main in front of the new building, the Utilities\nDepartment will be extending the main sewer line on Seventh Street and connecting it to\nthe existing sewer main on Shorb Street. The existing sewer main on Shorb Street\nbetween Seventh Street and Sixth Street will be abandoned as part of this project. Plans\nand specifications have been prepared. Staff has reviewed the plans and found them to\nbe consistent with the City’s standards.\nRecommended Action: City Council approve the distribution of a Notice Inviting Bids\nto qualified contractors for the Sewer Main Replacement Project on Seventh Street\nbetween Valley Blvd. and Shorb St. with bids due no later than 10:30 a.m. on May 21,\n2026 and opened at 11:00 a.m. that same day; and, direct staff to undertake the steps\nnecessary to finalize the Council’s action.
