23. NOVEMBER 3, 2026 ALHAMBRA GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION: ADOPTION OF\nAN ORDINANCE CALLING THE ELECTION AND OF A RESOLUTION REGARDING\nCONSOLIDATION WITH THE STATEWIDE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD THAT\nSAME DATE IN LOS ANGELES COUNTY – F2M26-33, O2M26-4859, R2M26-10\nOn April 13, 2026, the City Council introduced for first reading Ordinance No. O2M26-\n4859 providing for a General Municipal Election to be held on November 3, 2026 for the\npurpose of submitting to the qualified voters the following named officers: Councilperson\nof the First District, full term; Councilperson of the Second District, full term; and,\nCouncilperson of the Fifth District, full term. Pursuant to the Alhambra Charter as amended\nby Measure V in 2020, these offices shall be nominated from and elected by districts. The\nAlhambra City Charter provides that General Municipal Elections shall be consolidated\nwith the Statewide General Elections to be held on the first Tuesday following the first\nMonday of every even-numbered year; hence, the next General Municipal Election for the\nCity of Alhambra, will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. The City of Alhambra\nhistorically has consolidated its General Municipal Elections with those held on the same\ndate in the County of Los Angeles. Based on economies of scale, such consolidation has\nresulted in considerable cost savings for the City. Therefore, staff requests that the City\nCouncil adopt the ordinance calling the November 3, 2026 General Municipal Election as\nwell as a resolution regarding consolidation with the Statewide General Election to be held\nthat same day in Los Angeles County.\nRecommended Action: City Council, by one motion, take the following actions:\n1. Declare introduced for its second reading and adopt the following ordinance entitled:\nOrdinance No. O2M26-4859 entitled: An Ordinance of the Alhambra City\nCouncil providing for a General Municipal Election in said City to be held on\nNovember 3, 2026 and providing for the consolidation of the General Municipal\nElection with the Statewide General Election, said Election being held for the\nelection of the following City Officials, to wit: Councilperson of the First District,\nfull term; Councilperson of the Second District, full term; and, Councilperson\nof the Fifth District, full term; and,\n2. Adopt Resolution No. R2M26-10 entitled: A Resolution of the Alhambra City\nCouncil requesting the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles to\norder the consolidation of an Alhambra General Municipal Election to be held\non November 3, 2026 with the Statewide General Election to be held in Los\nAngeles County the same day, to authorize the Board of Supervisors of the\nCounty of Los Angeles to canvass the returns of said General Municipal\nElection and to request that the Registrar of Voters of said County be permitted\nto render specified services to the City of Alhambra relating to the conduct of\nsaid General Municipal Election pursuant to Elections Code Section 10403
