16.\nRENEWAL OF MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE ALHAMBRA\nUNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT (AUSD) FOR SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS FOR FY\n2026-27 – F2M20-57, C2M20-37, M2M26-80\nBoth the Alhambra Police Department and AUSD believe that the continuation of the\nSchool Resource Officer (SRO) Program will further the goal of maintaining a safe school\nenvironment for students and staff. The existing MOU with AUSD for an SRO Program\nexpires on June 30, 2026. Renewing this MOU provides police officers to the District\nduring the academic school year calendar through June 30, 2027. AUSD will reimburse\nthe City for services in an amount not to exceed $526,248.00 annually. Time is charged\nby itemized timecard hourly and billed to AUSD.\nRecommended Action:\nCity Council approve the Memorandum of Understanding\n(MOU) with the Alhambra Unified School District (AUSD) to continue the School Resource\nOfficer (SRO) Program for Fiscal Year 2026-2027, contingent upon entry into a\nreimbursement agreement for the cost of such services with AUSD; authorize the Chief of\nPolice to execute the Renewal to the Memorandum of Understanding; and direct staff to\nundertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s action.
