6.4 Consideration of a Resolution Approving a Proposal to Sell the Bell Gardens\nMunicipal Water System to Golden State Water Company, Calling an Election on\nNovember 3, 2026 to Present this Proposal to the City’s Voters, and First Reading of\nthe Ordinance Authorizing this Sale Subject to Voter Approval\nRECOMMENDATION: It is staff’s recommendation that the City Council:\n1. Adopt Resolution No. 2026-53 (1) Proposing to sell the Bell Gardens\nMunicipal Water System to Golden State Water Company, (2) Making\nrequired findings pursuant to Public Utilities Code § 10061, and (3) Calling\nan election for November 3, 2026, to submit this proposal to the City’s\nvoters; and\n2. Subject to adoption by the electorate, give first reading to Ordinance No.\n971 to permit the City of Bell Gardens to sell the Bell Gardens Municipal\nWater System to Golden State Water Company; and\n3.
