9F. ACCEPTANCE OF THE CITYWIDE STREET SIGN REPLACEMENT PROJECT\n(PHASE 2) (TASK CODE NO. 2022-102) BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF\nSTANTON, CALIFORNIA\nThe Citywide Street Sign Replacement Project (Phase 2) which consisted of replacing\napproximately 575 residential street name signs has been completed. The final\nconstruction cost was $177,000.00, $3,090.00 above the contract award amount of\n$173,910.00 due to two contract change orders utilizing the project contingency. The City\nEngineer, in his judgment, certifies that the work was satisfactorily completed as of April\n30, 2026, and recommends that the City Council accept the completed work performed\non this project.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION:\n1. City Council find that this project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality\nAct (“CEQA”), Class 2, Section 15302 as replacement of existing structures and\nfacilities; and\n2. Accept the completed improvements for the Citywide Street Sign Replacement Project\n(Phase 2) as certified by the City Engineer, and establish April 30, 2026, as the official\ndate of completion; and\n3. Approve the final construction contract amount of $177,000.00 with Square Signs LLC\ndba Front Signs; and\n4. Direct the City Clerk within ten (10) days from the date of acceptance to file the Notice\nof Completion (Attachment) with the County Clerk-Recorder of the County of Orange;\nand\n5. Direct City staff, after thirty-five (35) days has elapsed from the filing of the “Notice of\nCompletion” with the County Clerk-Recorder, to make the retention payment to\nSquare Signs LLC dba Front Signs in the amount of $8,850.00.
