Item 203: California Coastal Commission Modifications to the 2024 Land Development Code\nUpdate of the San Diego Municipal Code and Local Coastal Program.\nThis item will be considered in the afternoon session which is scheduled to begin at\n2:00 p.m.\nTotal Estimated Cost of Proposed Action and Funding Source:\nThere are no expenditures related to this item.\nCouncil District(s) Affected: Citywide.\nProposed Actions:\nThis action proposes to amend the Municipal Code and Local Coastal Program to adopt\nthe California Coastal Commission’s requested modifications to the 2024 Land\nDevelopment Code Update. The City Council adopted the 2024 Land Development Code\nUpdate on July 16, 2024. State law requires the California Coastal Commission's\ncertification of amendments to the Local Coastal Program before they can take effect in\nthe Coastal Zone. The California Coastal Commission conditionally certified the 2024\nLand Development Code Update and amendments to the Local Coastal Program with\nthree modifications on February 5, 2026. The first modification corrects a grammatical\nerror in Municipal Code section 143.0740(c)(1)(B) to clarify the intended application of\nthe regulation. The second and third modifications clarify regulations related to density\nbonus incentives and waivers.
