24. APPROVAL OF A SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRACT WITH LIFE ASSIST\nINC. FOR THE PURCHASE OF DISPOSABLE MEDICAL SUPPLIES – F2M20-6B,\nC2M20-20, M2M26-95\nOn June 8, 2020, the City Council awarded a contract to Life Assist for the purchase of\ndisposable medical supplies in an amount not to exceed $90,000.00 annually. On April\n28, 2025, the City Council approved an amendment to modify the amount to $125,000.00\nand extend the contract to June 30, 2027. Due to an unforeseen rise in essential\npurchases and with the rising costs of medical supplies, the entire contract has been spent\nfor FY 2025-26. A contingency in the amount of $40,000.00 a year is required for Fiscal\nYear 2025-26 and 2026-27 to continue the necessary purchases.\nRecommended Action: City Council approve a second amendment, subject to final\nlanguage approval by the City Manager and City Attorney, to the contract between the\nof $40,000.00 to reflect a not to exceed amount of $165,000.00 per year; and, direct staff\nto undertake the steps necessary to finalize the Council’s action.
