AWARD CONTRACT: CITYWIDE SHOPPING CART RETRIEVAL SERVICES – F2M26-\n31, RFP2M26-5, C2M26-40, M2M26-105\nOn April 13, 2026, the City Council approved the release of a Request for Proposals (RFP)\nto solicit qualified vendors to provide citywide shopping cart retrieval services. On April 27,\n2026, the RFP was released, and proposals were due on May 25, 2026. The City received\nproposals from five vendors seeking to provide shopping cart retrieval services throughout\nthe City. Staff evaluated all proposals, interviewed all five vendors through the week of\nMay 8, 2026 and selected CarTrac by RMS as the vendor that best meets the City’s\noperational needs and provides the best overall value. Approval of this contract will ensure\ncontinuity of shopping cart retrieval services Citywide to continue addressing abandoned\nshopping carts in a timely and effective manner.\nRecommended Action: City Council award a three-year contract, subject to final\nlanguage approval by the City Manager and City Attorney, to CarTrac by RMS in an\namount not-to-exceed $90,000 for Citywide Shopping Cart Retrieval Services; and, direct\nstaff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize the Council’s action.
