3. ADOPTION OF THE 2025 URBAN WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN – F2M11-37, N2M26-\n56, M2M26-107\nThis is the time and place set by Notice No. N2M26-56 for the City Council to hold a public\nhearing on the proposed 2025 Urban Water Management Plan. The California Department\nof Water Resources requires every urban water supplier to prepare and adopt an Urban\nWater Management Plan (UWMP), including a Water Shortage Contingency Plan, and\nperiodically update the Urban Water Management Plan at least once every five years, in\nyears ending in six and one. The 2025 Urban Water Management Plan and Water\nShortage Contingency Plan were prepared pursuant to the “Urban Water Management\nPlanning Act” and the California Water Code and requires adoption by July 2026. The\n2025 UWMP is an update to the City’s most recent plan dated June 2020, which was\nprepared in accordance with the UWMP Act, California Water Code. Staff reviewed the\n2020 Plan and with the assistance of Stetson Engineering Inc., provided updated\ninformation such as population, number of metered services, water pumped and\ndistributed, annual future water demands, and the addition of required conservation\ninformation.
