(23) 01-0199-S3\nPUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE REPORT relative to the First\nAmendment to the First Amended Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement\nbetween the City and County of Los Angeles for the Los Angeles\nRegional Crime Laboratory Facility.\nRecommendation for Council action:\nAPPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Mayor, or designee, to execute the\nproposed First Amendment to the First Amended Joint Exercise of\nof Los Angeles for governance of the Joint Regional Crime\nLaboratory Facility.\nFiscal Impact Statement: The City Administrative Officer (CAO)\nreports that the recommendation to execute the proposed First\nAmendment to the First Amended Joint Exercise of Powers\nAgreement has no General Fund impact. The amended Joint Exercise\nof Powers Agreement will continue to obligate the City to pay a\nproportional amount of the operating costs of the Crime Lab. The\nestimated 2026-27 City funding obligation is $2.35 million, which is\nincluded in the 2026-27 Proposed Budget within the Los Angeles\nPolice Department’s Contractual Services Account.\nFinancial Policies Statement: The CAO reports that the\nrecommendation in this report complies with the City’s Financial\nPolicies.
