10. APPROVE AWARD OF CONTRACT TO R & R CONTRACTORS, LLC FOR THE INSTALLATION
OF A CHAIN LINK PERIMETER FENCE AT VIN SCULLY CENTENNIAL PARK, CITY PROJECT
NO. 2-P-26
That the City Council:
A. Waive the formal bidding requirements per La Habra Municipal Code Chapter 4.20.120 (A);
B. Award a construction contract to R & R Contractors, LLC of Norwalk, California, for the installation
of a chain link perimeter fence at Vin Scully Centennial Park, City Project No. 2-P-26, in the amount of
$61,212.05, and reject all other bids;
C. Authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with R & R Contractors, LLC and authorize staff
to issue a purchase order to R & R Contractors, LLC in the amount of $67,333.25, which includes a
ten percent (10%) contingency, for the installation of a chain link perimeter fence at Vin Scully Centennial
Park;
D. Approve an appropriation of $67,333.25 from unencumbered Refuse Fund fund balance for the cost of
this project; and
E. Terminate the previously awarded contract to the apparent low bidder, Heavy & Solid Metal Fabrication,
LLC, as it has been deemed non-responsive for the project.
