B. CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTIONS PLACING A MEASURE ENACTING AN
ORDINANCE FOR A TRANSACTIONS AND USE TAX ON THE NOVEMBER
2026 CONSOLIDATED GENERAL ELECTION BALLOT
This item places a measure for San Gabriel voters to decide to enact a
transactions and use (sales) tax ordinance on the November 2026 Consolidated
General Election ballot; directs the City Attorney to prepare an impartial analysis
of the measure and sets the timeline to prepare and submit ballot arguments
and rebuttal arguments relating to the ballot measure.
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Not a Project as
defined in Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines.
Recommended Action:
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the following:
1. Resolution No. 26-37 Submitting a Ballot Measure to the Voters.
2. Resolution No. 26-30 Providing for Arguments and Rebuttals Relating to the
Ballot Measure.
