16. RESOLUTION APPROVING A FOURTH SIDE LETTER AGREEMENT AMENDING THE THE ALHAMBRA FIREFIGHTERS’ ASSOCIATION – F2M26-2, R2M26-2, C87-16B, M2M26-126 Previously, the City Council approved an MOU between the City and AFA. The MOU is not set to expire until June 30, 2027. Periodically, the need will arise to update and/or revise existing MOU language in order to clarify benefits or revise MOU language for California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) for compliance purposes. Changes proposed include: Revision to Article XXVIII, Education Incentive Bonus Language, Revision to Article XXIX, Heavy Rescue System Certificate – Educational Incentive Pay, Revision to Article V, Overtime and Compensation for Accrued Overtime. These changes have been reviewed and approved by the AFA. Recommended Action: City Council take the following actions: 1) Adopt Resolution No. R2M26-21 entitled: A Resolution Approving a Fourth Side Letter Agreement the Alhambra Fire Fighters Association (AFA) that includes clarifying language for existing benefits, revision of existing language for CalPERS compliance purposes; and 2) Direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s action.
