5) CONSIDERATION TO APPROVE A GRANT AGREEMENT ACCEPTING CALIFORNIA HIGHWAYPATROL CANNABIS TAX FUND GRANT PROGRAM FUNDS AND ADOPT A RESOLUTIONAPPROPRIATING THE GRANT FUNDSRecommend that the City Council:a. Approve a Grant Agreement with the California Highway Patrol (Contract No. 2553)accepting Cannabis Tax Fund Grant Program funds in the amount of $188,355.56 for theperiod of July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, to support Driving Under the Influence anddrug-impaired driving enforcement through sobriety checkpoints, saturation patrols,officer training, public education, and the purchase of related enforcement equipment andsupplies;b. Adopt Resolution No. 8473 amending the budget for Fiscal Year 2026-2027 to appropriatethe grant revenues and expenses; andc. Authorize the City Manager, or designee, to make non-substantive changes and execute allrelated documents.
