(40) 20-0263 COMMUNICATION FROM THE CITY ATTORNEY relative to the payment of attorney and intervenor fees for the case entitled L.A. States District Court Case No. 2:20-cv-02291-DOC-KES. Recommendations for Council action, SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE MAYOR: 1. AUTHORIZE the City Attorney to draw a demand from Fund No. 100/59, Account No. 009798, Miscellaneous Payouts, as follows: a. $1,900,000 to Umhofer, Mitchell & King, LLP, Client Trust Account. b. $300,000 to Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles. 2. AUTHORIZE the City Attorney, or designee, to make necessary technical adjustments, subject to the approval of the City Administrative Officer (CAO); and, AUTHORIZE the Controller to implement the instructions. Fiscal Impact Statement: None submitted by the City Attorney. Neither the CAO nor the Chief Legislative Analyst has completed a financial analysis of this report.
