1.7 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH SAFE\nSIDEWALKS, INC. DBA PRECISION CONCRETE CUTTING FOR SIDEWALK REPAIR\nSERVICES\nCity Council will consider a resolution authorizing a professional services agreement with Safe Sidewalks,\nInc. DBA Precision Concrete Cutting (Precision) for sidewalk repair services. Precision provides sidewalk\nassessment and repair services and maintains a master services agreement with the California Joint Powers\nInsurance Authority (CJPIA), the City’s risk management provider. In 2021, Precision performed an\nassessment of the City’s sidewalk network to identify necessary replacements, repairs, and trip hazards.\nPrecision has proposed to perform repair and trip hazard remediation services on the identified sidewalk\nsegments under the terms and pricing made available to all CJPIA member agencies. The repair methodology\nwill result in all sidewalk separations and lifts being cut to ensure a smooth, safe, and accessible path. Staff\nis also preparing a project for sidewalk that is in need of replacement and that will be brought forward for\nconsideration at a future meeting.\nEnvironmental Determination: Under Section 15301.C of the CEQA Guidelines, these repairs are\ncategorically exempt and, therefore, no environmental review is required.
