9A. City Manager - Adopt RESOLUTIONS Setting Forth Hours, Wages, and Working\nConditions for Torrance Municipal Employees (AFSCME Local-1117), Crossing\nGuards, City Attorney, and City Manager. Expenditure: $5,742,030 (General Fund\nand Non-General Fund).\nRecommendation of the City Manager that City Council\n1) Adopt a RESOLUTION pursuant to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) setting\nforth the hours, wages, and working conditions for Torrance Municipal Employees\n(AFSCME Local 1117) in the amount of $5,686,509 (15% ), for the period January 1, 2023\nto June 30, 2024 and repeal Resolution No. 2019-38 in its entirety; and\n2) Adopt a RESOLUTION pursuant to the MOU setting forth the hours, wages, and\nworking conditions for Crossing Guards in the amount of $49,041 (9%), for the period\nMay 7, 2023 to June 30, 2024 and repeal Resolution No. 2019-37 in its entirety; and\n3) Adopt a RESOLUTION amending Resolution No. 2018-109 setting forth changes\nregarding hours, wages, and working conditions for the City Attorney in the amount of\n$3,240 which updates the car allowance; and\n4) Adopt a RESOLUTION amending Resolution No. 2020-97 setting forth changes\nregarding hours, wages, and working conditions for the City Manager in the amount of\n$3,240 which updates the car allowance.\n*The following item was added on Wednesday, May 3, 2023.\n*9B. City Manager - Provide Direction for Selection of New City Logo. Expenditure:\nNone.\nRecommendation of the City Manager that City Council provide direction to staff regarding\nthe 98 entries for a new City logo:\n1) Select an Entry as submitted; or\n2) Select an Entry and recommend modification(s); or\n3) Determine no Entries are acceptable and extend the deadline; or\n4) Direct Staff to create and submit alternatives; or\n5) Direct Staff to work with on-line logo designers using professional artists; or\n6) Direct Staff to develop a Request for Proposals and establish a budget; or\n7) Do not replace the existing logo at this time.\nCity Council Meeting 05-09-23 4 of 7\n5
