CC 10. Construction Award of Bid – PWCP 23-016 - Amargosa Creek Channel Culvert\nImprovements\nRecommendation(s):\n1. Approve an appropriation of $500,000.00 from Fund Balance into Account No.\n484‑17CB006‑924, for the Amargosa Creek Channel Culvert Improvements.\n2. Award PWCP 23-016, Amargosa Creek Channel Culvert Improvements, to LNA Concrete\nStructures, Inc. of Chino Hills, California, in the amount of $972,830.00 plus a 20%\ncontingency, to install trash racks and gates within the Amargosa Creek Channel on both\nsides of 20th Street West and Avenue J-8 culverts. Authorize the City Manager, or his\ndesignee, to sign all documents. This contract was negotiated and awarded per California\nPublic Contract Code Section 22038(c).\n3. Find that the City has complied with the California Environmental Quality Act. A Notice\nof Exemption was filed on March 10, 2023.\nThis project proposes to install custom trash racks and gates within the Amargosa Creek\nChannel on both sides of the 20th Street West and Avenue J-8 culverts. The construction of\nthis project will prevent trash and debris from clogging the culverts and improve safety by\nlimiting illegal access into the culverts.
