F. SAN GABRIEL TOURISM AND MARKETING IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT\n(TMID) ANNUAL REPORT\nThe San Gabriel Tourism and Marketing Improvement District (SGTMID),\nformed on February 5, 2019, is a benefit assessment district that creates a\nrevenue source to help fund marketing and sales promotion efforts for San\nGabriel lodging businesses through an increase in transient occupancy tax for\nthe City of San Gabriel. The goal is to improve tourism and drive additional\nroom night sales to assessed lodging businesses. The SGTMID includes lodging\nbusinesses with 100 rooms or more. Located within the boundaries of the City\nof San Gabriel; specifically, these lodging businesses are the Hilton Los\nAngeles/San Gabriel and the Sheraton Los Angeles San Gabriel hotels. The\nSGTMID has a five-year term, beginning July 1, 2019, through June 30, 2024.\nThere is no fiscal impact related to this item.\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Not a Project as\ndefined in Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines.\nRecommended Action:\nStaff recommends that the City Council accept and file the San Gabriel Travel\nand Tourism Annual Report covering periods 2020-2023.
