AGREEMENT EXTENSION WITH THE SAN GABRIEL VALLEY HUMANE\nSOCIETY (SGVHS) FOR ANIMAL CARE AND CONTROL SERVICES FOR\nFISCAL YEAR 2023-2024 INCLUDING A NEW ANNUAL FEE AMOUNT OF\n$410,000\nThe San Gabriel Valley Humane Society (SGVHS) has provided animal care and\ncontrol services to the community for many decades. The City’s most recent\nagreement with SGVHS, approved by City Council on June 1, 2022 in the\namount of $325,000, was an amendment to the agreement dated June 3, 2021,\nand has a term of one-year. With the existing amendment set to terminate on\nJune 30, 2023, the SGVHS is requesting to continue services for the City for\nFiscal Year 2023-2024 with the new compensation of $410,000. The cost to the\nCity for SGVHS to provide a full-service animal care and control program for\nFiscal Year 2023-2024 under the proposed extension would be $410,000. Based\non prior years, the license fee revenue for Fiscal Year 2023-2024 is estimated at\n$35,000.\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Not a Project as\ndefined in Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines.\nRecommended Action:\nStaff recommends that the City Council authorize the City Manager to extend\nthe existing agreement with the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society for Fiscal\nYear 2023-2024 in the amount of $410,000 and approve the proposed revisions\nto the terms.
