K. APPROVAL OF AN AMENDMENT TO A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES\nAGREEMENT WITH ALESHIRE & WYNDER TO INCREASE HOURLY BILLING\nRATES FOR TRANSACTIONAL AND LITIGATION SERVICES\nThe City currently employs Mr. Keith Lemieux of the law firm of Aleshire and\nWynder to serve as the City Attorney. In order to more closely align the billing\nrates for hourly services charged to the City of San Gabriel with rates that\nAleshire and Wynder charge to their other clients, the firm is requesting City\nCouncil’s approval of an increase to their hourly billing rates. The monthly\nretainer will not be affected by their amendment and the overall cost for legal\nservices is expected to remain within the amount budgeted for the next fiscal\nyear. There is no fiscal impact to approve this item. Costs for legal services are\nincluded in the current fiscal year budget and the hourly rate increases are not\nexpected to cause the budget amount to be exceeded.\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Not a Project as\ndefined in Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines.\nRecommended Action:\nStaff recommends that the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute\nthe attached amendment to the professional services agreement with Aleshire\nand Wynder.
