16.A Discussion and Action on City Council District 1 Vacancy Including 1157 -\nPotentially Calling a Special Election to Fill the Vacancy or Appointment 1197\nof a Qualified Individual to Fill the Vacancy\nStaff Report #23-184 - Pdf\nRecommendation:\nIt is respectfully recommended that the City Council discuss and take\none of the following actions:\n(1) Appoint a qualified candidate to finish the remainder of the unexpired\nterm of the District 1 City Council seat; or\n(2) Call a Special Election to elect a qualified candidate to finish the\nremainder of the unexpired term of the District 1 City Council seat (Draft\nResolution Attached); or\n(3) Discuss and take other such action as the City Council deems\nappropriate consistent with state and local law.
