6. CONTRACT APPROVAL: ALHAMBRA CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT\nASSOCIATION FOR FISCAL YEAR 2023-2024 – F2M21-50, C2M23-45, M2M23-94\nStaff requests City Council approval of an agreement with the Alhambra Central\nBusiness District Association (ACBDA) for the 2023-2024 fiscal year. Since 1974 the\nCity has maintained agreements with the ACBDA to provide promotional support to the\nmerchants in the Central Business District of Alhambra. These merchants have an\nassessment placed upon them, in accordance with the Alhambra Municipal Code,\nSection 5.04.201, which is collected by the City and allocated for marketing and\npromotion activities specific to the District area. According to the City’s agreement with\nthe ACBDA, a maximum of ninety percent (90%) of the total funds collected each year\nby the City may be allocated to the ACBDA.\nRecommended Action: City Council award a contract, subject to final language\napproval by the City Manager and City Attorney, to the Alhambra Central Business District\nAssociation (ACBDA) for the promotion of the Central Business District for the 2023-2024\nfiscal year; and, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s action.\n(M2M23-94)\n8\n6-26-23
