2.S. RECOGNITION OF AUGUST 31ST AS OVERDOSE\nAWARENESS DAY [J. ERICKSON, Y. QUARKER,\nJ. DEL TORO, J. DUCKWORTH]:\nThe City Council will consider recognizing August 31,\n2023 as Overdose Awareness Day to honor the lives\nlost to drug overdoses and raise awareness about\nthe importance of harm reduction and overdose\nprevention.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Direct the City's Facilities\n& Field Services Division to light City Hall in purple on\nAugust 31, 2023, in recognition of Overdose\nAwareness Day; and 2) Direct the Communications\nDepartment to utilize all appropriate communication\ntools to promote Overdose Awareness Day including,\nbut not limited to, the City's website, a press release,\nand social media tools.\nSTAFF REPORT
