DIR-2021-8570-BSA-1A Council District: 11 – Park\nCEQA: N/A Last Day to Act: N/A\nPlan Area: Brentwood – Pacific Palisades Continued from: 6/7/2023\nPROJECT SITE: 824 North Kenter Avenue\nOn October 4, 2022, pursuant to City Charter Section 245, the Los Angeles City Council adopted a motion\n(Bonin-Buscaino) asserting jurisdiction over the September 7, 2022 West Los Angeles Area Planning\nCommission (WLAAPC) action that denied an appeal of various building permits issued for the project\nlocated at 824 North Kenter Avenue. Upon assertion of that jurisdiction, the CIty Council vetoed the above\naction of the WLAAPC and remanded this matter back to WLAAPC for reconsideration. (Council File No.\n22-1124). The details of the appeal which is the subject of reconsideration are as follows:\nPROPOSED PROJECT:\nAppeal of building permits issued for the construction of a new four-story single-family dwelling with\nattached garage, storage, recreation room, accessory dwelling unit, retaining and planter walls, deck, water\nfountain, pool and spa.\nAPPEAL:\nAn appeal of the June 13, 2022, a Planning Director’s Determination which:\n1. Denied, pursuant to Section 12.26 K of the Los Angeles Municipal Code, an appeal to the Director of\nPlanning alleging that the Department of Building and Safety (LADBS) erred and abused its discretion\nin by issuing Building Permit No. 18010-30000-03098 for a new four-story single-family dwelling with\nattached garage, storage, recreation room and an accessory dwelling unit; Building Permit No. 18030-\n30000-04200 for grading for a single-family dwelling, retaining wall and deck; Building Permit\nNo.18020-30000-01813 for a water fountain; Building Permit No. 18020-30000-01812 for shoring for\nbasement and retaining wall excavation; Building Permit No. 18020-30000-01811 for retaining wall\nand planter walls; and Building Permit No. 18047-30000-01149 for new pool and spa; and\n2.
