7.6 Antelope Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District\nRecommendation:\nDirect staff of both Cities to explore opportunities and engage in discussions\nregarding entering a joint effort to ensure continued funding and support of the\nAntelope Valley Mosquito & Vector Control District.\nThe City of Lancaster and the City of Palmdale have historically faced similar health\nand safety concerns regarding mosquitos and have engaged in related regulatory\nand prevention efforts. The Antelope Valley Mosquito & Vector Control District (the\nDistrict) is a special district formed in 1958. It provides essential mosquito\nabatement services to the approximately 250 square miles covering most of\nPalmdale, Lancaster, and areas of LA County.
