Public Works -Approve Categorical Exemption Under California Environmental\nQuality Act (CEQA) and Award Public Works Agreement for Sidewalk Repair\nfor Disabled Accessibility (CDBG #602480-22), 1-135. Expenditure: $1,091,960\n(Non-General Fund).\nRecommendation of the Public Works Director that City Council:\n1) Determine that the approval of Sidewalk Repair for Disabled Accessibility\n(CD8G #602480-22), 1-135 is categorically exempt from environmental review\npursuant to Section 15301(c) of the Guidelines implementing California Environmental\nQuality Act ("CEQA"); and\n2) Approve the specifications for the Sidewalk Repair for Disabled Accessibility\n(CD8G #602480-22), 1-135 (82022-44); and\n3) Reject the apparent low bid from Doja Inc. of Ontario, CA as nonresponsive; and\n4) Award a public works agreement to Kalban, Inc. ("Kalban") of Santa Clarita, CA\n(82022-44) in the amount of $992,691 and authorize a 10% contingency of $99,269\nfor the construction of Sidewalk Repair for Disabled Accessibility (CD8G #602480-22),\n1-135, for a two-year period beginning January 24, 2023 and ending January 23, 2025.
