RESOLUTION NO.      - First Amendment to Contract DA-5503 with Nossaman LLP:  To increase the contract authority by $200,000, for new total not to exceed $350,000, covering legal advice in connection to insurance coverage issues, including Los Angeles World Airports’ claim for COVID-19 business interruption and the pursuit of any related civil litigation \nPURPOSE: The action requests approval for a First Amendment to Contract DA-5503 with the law firm of Nossaman LLP to assist Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) by providing legal advice in connection to insurance coverage issues and the pursuit of any related civil litigation. The First Amendment will increase the contract authority by $200,000, to a not-to-exceed amount of $350,000. \nRECOMMENDATIONS: Adoption of the Report requesting that the Board of Airport Commissioners determine that this action is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Article II, Section 2.f of the Los Angeles City CEQA Guidelines; find that the work can be performed more economically or feasibly by an independent contractor than by City employees; approve the First Amendment to Contract DA-5503 with Nossaman LLP; and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute said First Amendment after approval as to form by the City Attorney.
