2.U. RECOGNITION OF SEPTEMBER AS SUICIDE\nPREVENTION AWARENESS MONTH [C. BYERS,\nJ. ERICKSON, Y. QUARKER, H. MOLINA, J. DEL\nTORO, M. WATSON]:\nThe City Council will consider adopting a resolution\nrecognizing the month of September 2023 as Suicide\nPrevention Awareness Month to honor the lives lost\nto suicide and raise awareness about the importance\nof self-harm reduction and prevention.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Adopt Resolution No. 23-\n________, "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY\nCOUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST HOLLYWOOD\nIN RECOGNITION OF SEPTEMBER AS SUICIDE\nPREVENTION AWARENESS MONTH"; 2) Direct the\nCity's Facilities & Field Services Division to light up\nCity Hall and lanterns in teal on September 11-15,\n2023, in recognition of Suicide Prevention Awareness\nMonth; and 3) Direct the Communications\nDepartment to utilize all appropriate communication\ntools to promote Suicide Prevention Awareness\nMonth including, but not limited to, the City's website,\na press release, and social media tools.\nSTAFF REPORT
